How long have you been designing jewelry?

Five years now. 

Have you held any other positions in the design world?

I was an art director for two international companies for seven years.

What are your main inspirations when designing your bold jewelry?

That can be many things, artists, countries I visit, a certain mood, or a vision I have.

Generally speaking, how long does it take to create a collection?

It can take six-ten weeks depending on the technique, materials, how many pieces, and variety.

Do you create collections around fashion seasons?

Not specifically, I think it’s important that collections are timeless but, it also depends on the theme of a collection which can be two to three collections per year. Two large ones where I showcase new techniques, trends of seasons and one small jewelry collection.

Your designs are so bold, strong, yet feminine.  Do you have a particular woman in mind when you are designing a collection?

For me every women is a star, and I always want to reflect that. Strong women to tell me and their story.  Along with that I work a lot in the music and film industry. I am a big fan of glamor and art nouveau.

Do you have a favorite collection and why?

One of my favorite collections is still the Red Rebellion. Red Rebellion is a bold and strong collection but it’s also one of my collections that represent a time frame of good memories on a personal level and for me as a designer. 

Do you have any new projects or collaborations in the works?

At this moment I’m working on the first sketches of my new collection.  Along with  that I’m working on some special projects, but can’t tell anything about them. You must stay tuned… I’m very excited! 

When can we expect your next collection?

Mid September. Expect the unexpected! I always like to work with a contrast. Goldrush is very rich and bold. I  like to create something completely different but with a Bjorn signature look and feel. 

Are there any artists you’d love to collaborate with?

There are few. Cher or Lady Gaga for example.

Do you have a favorite singer, actor, or model you’ve worked with and why?

Not in particular because I just love when all the pieces fall Into place in the end. If I could add something to tell their story or create that iconic look or moment.

Would you like to design clothing or anything else other than jewelry?

I’m not only designing jewelry but also a lot of accessories such as headpieces , bodices, waist belts or body pieces.

Do you retail your designs on line or are you also in brick and mortars?

I have an online store where you can find all the collections and next to that all the couture, limited editions, and one-of-a-kind. Next to that are a selection of my jewelry collections (Pret a Porter collections) are available in selected stores.
