It’s official our new baby girl has joined our family and we could not be more excited! So far, going from first time parents to second time parents has been night and day. We are both more relaxed and able to rest better because of it. However, we are not too proud to admit that thinking about the newborn stage again does bring on a certain level of anxiety. Even though we survived those long sleepless nights with Lydia, we are excited to have products like the Newton Baby crib mattress to help us sleep easy.

Reasons to Love This Crib Mattress

Putting this nursery together with the help of Lydia was so much fun. So many little memories made with her in this room before her sister was brought home. I have several places for the baby to sleep during the day. A couple of bassinets for naps – one on each level of the house to make it easier on me. The baby will be sleeping with us in our room for the first few weeks in one of those bassinets, until we transition her into the crib. That was our first major challenge with Lydia. It was stressful on Eric and I going from bedside to baby monitor. With the new baby, this super safe and breathable crib mattress is going to make it a lot easier on us!

After trying Newton Baby’s #breath2believe challenge, I am totally convinced that we can confidently put our baby to sleep on this mattress and not worry about her safety. Our whole family buried our noses into the mattress to test the airflow. We could easily take a breath with our nose completely covered (check out the video on Instagram in my nursery highlights)! Suffocation is one of the greatest concerns parents can have while their infant sleeps. Newton Baby’s Breath-Thru technology allows for air to freely flow all the way through the mattress. So if the baby happens to roll over or get herself into an unsafe position during the night, this mattress will still allow her to breath.

One thing that does worry me with this little girl is regulating her temperature. The temps in Wyoming are still pretty hot, and that was something I didn’t have to worry about with Lydia as she was a Spring baby. Because the Newton Baby mattress is completely breathable, it will keep baby’s temperature regulated during naps and bedtime. One less thing to keep me up at night!

Again, anything that makes life easier for parents is a must for us, especially when things can happen late at night.
