The House Magazine

We learned so much as first time parents. It was so overwhelming for Eric and I, and the sleep deprivation was absolutely killer. If a product claimed to get the baby sleep to sleep, we bought it – leading to many 3:00 AM Amazon Prime purchases.

With Eva, we are a little more confident in ourselves to be able to solve problems without the aid of a highly rated product. However, there are still items that we held on to for Eva. The items we have continued to use with baby number two are the ones that make are lives easy, convenient and are safe. We also snagged a couple of things we wished we had with Lydia. So, I put this list together to share the baby products we can’t live without right now.

Our List of Essential Baby Products

One. Everdeen Diaper Rash Cream And Baby Massage Oil – I try to use all natural / organic products on my girls whenever I can. Evergreens products are amazing. We have had zero rash using it on Eva.

Two. Fawn Design Diaper Bag – This is one product I wish I would have had with Lydia. Going from a diaper bag with a shoulder strap to one that operates as a backpack was such a good move. Having both hands free is usually necessary, especially now with two kids. It’s the cutest design and makes it easy for me to organize everything we need. This one is even approved by Eric.

Three. WestleeMae Swaddle Blankets – I feel like swaddle blankets are an accessory of mine up until about year of age with my girls. So if they are going to be a part of my everyday outfit, I would like them to be pretty! I love these patterns from WestleeMae. The blankets are a good size and they are super soft. I love supporting small business and this is one of my absolute favorites.

Four. The DockATot – There isn’t much else I can say about the DockATot that would be different from what every mom says about this product. It snuggles Eva in, keeps her cozy and gives me some much needed long nap times so I can get a few things done around the house.

Five. BIBS Pacifier – Lydia took a pacifier right away, but with Eva we had to try a few before we found one she liked. These made are in Denmark with BPA-free natural rubber, and the shape seems to mimic that of a nipple more than other pacifiers out there! Eva love it.

Six. Mimijumi Bottles – We used this bottle with Lydia and she did well with it so it has been handed down to Eva. I haven’t seen a bottle out there that does a better job at mimicking the real thing for breastfed babies, so I highly recommend it to any nursing mom. Also, SUPER easy to clean because they are literally no parts to it. Love that.

Seven. Marpac Hushh White Noise Maker – I have to move around the house a lot more with a baby and a toddler. I decided this called for a portable noise maker so I could lay Eva down wherever it was convenient in a three-story house. This is the COOLEST noise maker and the perfect size. Good amount of volume levels to drown out vacuums, barking dogs, etc. I usually hang it from a door knob close to where she is sleeping.

Eight. The Nose Frida – Man oh man, the Nose Frida. It may seem gross, but this is a must have product at our house. Having a tiny baby with congestion is never fun, but the Nose Frida is extremely helpful. There is no other product out there that can clear snot out of a baby’s nose like this one can. When I say every parent should have one of these, I mean it.

Nine. Nuna Sena Aire Travel Crib – The very first pack and play we had was SO HARD to put together. We knew this would never work when we decided to start traveling more. Some road trips put us into a hotel extremely late at night so wrestling with a pack and play was not an option. In comes the Nuna Sena. So easy to set up and put away, and I love the infant level that can be inserted, making it easier to put an itty bitty down in it. This is a product I definitely love.

Ten & Eleven. Wee Gallery Cards and Soft Book – Wee Gallery is a company I fell in love with as a parent when Lydia started observing more. The high contrast black and white images are the best, and they keep Eva occupied for awhile. The cards are an item we hung on to from Lydia, but I picked up a couple of the soft books for Eva. Both are the best toys for tummy time.

Twelve. Newton Baby Crib Mattress – This is one item we did not have with Lydia. I partnered with Baby Newton before Eva was born and was so excited to have this product for our new baby. The breathability is absolutely amazing, making it easy for me to put Eva to sleep in her crib without hesitation. Read more about this mattress here.

Thirteen. Nested Bean Swaddle – During the first couple of weeks we had Eva home, I wanted to give this swaddle a try because of the little bit of weight it put on Eva’s chest. I think this made it easier to transfer her from arms to crib because she felt like she was still being held. I would give this product a try if you plan to swaddle!

Forteen. Chicco Lullago Portable Bassinet – There are so many options out there when it comes to a bassinet. But because we are typically on the go, I wanted one that was easy to pack and un-pack. I also love the netting around the sides because both my girls were squirmers as babies so if they make their way towards the sides, it scared me less. This one also fits the DockATot perfectly, which also comes with us for any traveling we might be doing.
