The House Magazine

I am beat. If you follow me on Instagram, you saw that we’re about to embark on a family adventure by listing our house. So this last weekend was dedicated to getting things ready, and it took three days. Going through clothes, toys, books – making piles of giveaways, garbage and what to store. Three days, and our house has never looked better. It feels amazing to be this organized and Eric and I have promised to (TRY) to keep things this way, even when we make the move into another house. So at the very end of the weekend, we had a couple of drinks while enjoying our accomplishments and it reminded me that I wanted to share my love for this White Citrus Sangria.

Simplicity is my thing in the summer. In Wyoming, the season is short, so maximizing our time to enjoy it is key. Our family is more spontaneous this time of year, so having a recipe like this when friends stop by is a must. It’s so easy to throw this cocktail together, and you may already have the ingredients on hand.

Sweet wines are not my favorite, so when I make this sangria I use a drier white and it pairs well with crisp citrus flavors from the fruit. A rosé would definitely work here as well. But if you prefer sweet, then please buy what suits your pallet! After that, grab whatever citrus fruit you have available, slice it up and add it to a pitcher. We typically use oranges, lemon and grapefruit – if kumquats are in season I would add those too! Just a few other ingredients and this thing is good to go. It also serves around four people – quick, easy and goes a long way.
