Baby Bump Update | Week 24

This baby bump update is long overdue! I have been so busy with work-life and home-life that the blog took a back seat the last couple of weeks. I had to travel to Chicago for work for about a week, and those trips are always fast and furious. It was good to get out of town for a bit, but so glad the flights weren’t too long! I am already so uncomfortable on planes! My tolerance for it with Lydia was definitely higher. Anyway, here are the fun details for week 24!

Bump Update | Week 24

Size: Baby is the size of a cantaloupe this week! Is around 11.8 inches and weighs about 1.30 pounds. In my last bump update, the baby was still only weighing in ounces!

Weight gained: I go into the doctor next week, but last time I weighed in there I had actually lost a pound. According to my scale at home, I do believe I have gained a bit PLUS that pound I lost……

Symptoms: Back pain, back pain, back pain. My back started hurting me towards the end of my first pregnancy. I don’t think it ever recovered because I have had pain early on this go around. I did actually purchase a support tank from Blanqi so I will let you guys know how much that helps. Also, their support tanks are 50% off right now, so if you are interested I would definitely check it out now.

Favorite wardrobe piece to wear right now: Anything that does not feel like it sticks to my body. Which is about nothing. I am going to be doing some serious summer clothing shopping this week to prepare for the warmer months. I’m already being a bit of a baby about the heat, but I am also feeling REALLY big right now for having three more months to go. I did swing into an Anthropologie while I was in Chicago and grabbed a few non-maternity pieces (one top pictured above) that I LOVE. You can shop them below.

Boy or girl? I did announce on Instagram a week or two ago that we are having another girl! Eric was really nervous about it when we first found out. He was unsure what life was going to be like with a house full of women, but he has recovered from the shock and is excited to meet our new little girl. Lydia wanted a sister from the very beginning so she is excited!

Nursery update: Right now, we are slowly cleaning the space out and Lydia’s big girl bed frame is on order. Once we have that, we will move the crib out of her room and into the nursery! So, things are happening slowly but surely. I am still planning on decorating according to my girls nursery post that went up a little while ago. I will make sure to share some updates!

Pregnancy related items I am buying this week: Like I said, now that it’s warmer I feel like I am in desperate need of cooler, loose fitting clothing. Shop my list above!

One thing I am currently having trouble with: Working out. My work out partner recently had her second little boy and it is so hard to stay motivated to go without her! I am also so wary of over doing it with my back, so that’s also contributing to my lack of motivation. I really do want to stay active as long as I can. It did wonders for me during my first pregnancy. Fingers crossed I don’t completely quit before the new little one arrives.

One moment I loved about this past week: Lydia constantly asking about her baby sister. “Is she in the car with us mommy?” “Can I touch my sister mommy?” And she at least lays her head on my belly once or twice a day to show a little love. So sweet and it makes me so excited to see what she will be like once her sister is here.

One thing I plan to do for myself this week: Finish planting my flowers and putting the vegetables in the garden. Eric was kind enough to build me a raised garden area for vegetables and I plan to spend the next few days filling it with Lydia.

Food cravings: No cravings really. But the space in my stomach has definitely shrunk. I will start eating and immediately get full. So food in general is not that exciting to me at this point!

Currently working on: Not over-doing it. It has been killing my back! And now that it’s warmer out I don’t want to start swelling in the heat. So I have been making myself put my feel up more and more. A little rest never hurt anyone!
