Excited to share this bump update this week! So many things are happening…including baby Perez #2 making some moves towards an appearance. We are so much closer to being prepared as well, so stress levels have gone down! Hope you all are well and please comment below with any advice / insight!

Baby Bump Update | Week 36

Size: Baby is the size of a papaya this week! Measuring around 18.7 inches and is weighing about 5.73 pounds. That is SO much larger compared to the last Bump Update Post.

Weight gained: Last check in, I was still only gaining about a pound a week. The doctor and I were both pleased with that! These last few weeks I have gained a couple pounds between appointments. I went in for my weekly on Wednesday and actually lost a pound, but I remember plateauing with Lydia towards the end as well.

Symptoms: Less and less sleep. More and more pee. This week got a little interesting when I experienced some real contractions. Not too painful but I figured I was dilating. Sure enough, when the doctor checked I was already at 3 cm. This is how Lydia’s labor started as well, so I am interested to see how similar it will be this time! Lydia was 10 days early, and I went a week at 3 cm before delivery….maybe this one will be even earlier?

Favorite wardrobe piece to wear right now: I stopped buying maternity clothes really early on, and got away with not having much of it. That being said, because of the heat and how large I am, dresses are my favorite thing to put on right now. I have a few spaghetti strapped dresses that I am loving like the one above, so for work, I throw a cardigan or shirt over the top.

Nursery update: If you haven’t been following along with this room update, check out the videos in my Instagram highlights. Eric and I went back and forth on peel-and-stick wallpaper options. I had my heart set on a pattern, but when it came down to it, we decided to opt for a stencil instead. We have talked about maybe listing our house in the near future so we wanted to spend less just in case. I found this stencil and fell in love! Eric finished painting it, and added the trim and crown molding. The space looks gorgeous. Hoping to have most of it put together this weekend as the decorations trickle in.

Items currently on my purchase list: I have nursery decor on the brain right now, however I am also looking for something comfortable to wear in the hospital. A few of my finds are below. I have also been frantically searching for the perfect outfit for the new little one to wear home!

Comfortable Hospital Wear

One thing I am currently having trouble with: Frustration. Because of how low the baby is, everything seems to hurt. If I am on my feet too long, or try to do anything around the house my back starts to scream. The pain from all the pressure is a little uncomfortable as well. A little frustrating when you feel like you have so much to do before the baby comes!

Moments I have loved these past few weeks: Seeing the nursery come together has been great! So surreal that a little baby will be sleeping in the room soon. Lydia’s excitement is building as well, which has been so heartwarming to watch. I think about the moment she will meet her sister daily.

One thing I plan to do for myself this week: Take it easy. I would like to try and avoid this baby coming SUPER early…and it’s still pretty early. So, to avoid having any more contractions and swollen feet I am going to try not to overdo it.

Food cravings: I had to go to the grocery store yesterday to pick up a box of Honey Bunches of Oats for lunch. I ate the BIGGEST bowl of it and was completely satisfied. I’m pretty sure that counts as a craving.

Currently working on: Getting my bag packed! Need to grab some must have items this weekend and share with you guys. I also want to make this whole experience special for Lydia so I plan to grab a few “big sister” things for her hospital bag as well!
