Sophie Wolf.

As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp, fall invites us into a season of gathering — of flavors, colors, and rituals that root us more deeply in the present. For intuitive guide and creative Sophie Wolf, this transition is less about endings and more about a fertile pause: a moment to weave the spiritual into the everyday, to focus less on letting go and more on leaning in, and to savor the rituals that honor both the body and the home.

In this conversation for The House Magazine, Sophie opens her doors and her practice, sharing reflections that remind us: Living seasonally isn’t about grand gestures, but about the quiet ways we notice, feel, and align with the world around us.

How do you personally mark the transition from summer to fall in your spiritual practice and daily routines?

I follow the rhythm of nature in my practices. Autumn is about harvesting, contemplating the late flowers, the shifting colors, the garden’s final hurrah before its winter sleep.

I love this season — it feels ripe, full of flavors, colors, sensations. It’s a time to ground, to anchor the spiritual into the tangible. While summer is about play, autumn invites me to gather the wisdom of spring and summer and bring spirit into matter.

How do your readings or intuitive insights shift as the energy changes with the season?

In autumn, I tend to channel more of the elements — the earth, the wind, the rivers. It feels as though nature is pulsing with messages I’m ready to receive. This season always brings me back to gravity and presence, reminding me of the Earth’s steady embrace.

As we collectively move into this fall, what wisdom or message do you feel called to share with people?

Stop waiting. Start doing. As simple as that.

Stop waiting. Start doing. As simple as that.”

“Home is where you can both ascend and descend. A place of elevation and groundedness. Whether it’s a physical space or the arms of someone you love.”

I love the simplicity. Building on that, what advice would you give to someone seeking deeper alignment with seasonal cycles in their everyday life?

Come back to your senses. Tune into everything that makes the experience of being alive so enchanting: what you see, what you smell, what your skin longs to feel, what your hands reach for. Living seasonally is about noticing where we are, how we feel, and what we truly want.

We resonate with that. Here at The House, we love peeking into other people’s homes and personal practice. What’s the vibe of your current home, and what made you fall in love with it?

It’s hard to pin down the vibe of my house — maybe somewhere between a modern cottage, a cozy disco temple, and a salon of trinkets. Music is always playing, sunlight pours through the many windows, and the little garden adds its own magic.

Who or what is inspiring and enchanting you right now?

So many. I’m inspired by little things — someone smiling in the rain, the baker singing in his pantry at 4 a.m., or even a superstar daring to shift radically. I love that our digital age lets us peek into other people’s mesmerizing minds. What a gift, art is everywhere if you’re willing to open your eyes.

What does “home” mean to you — is it your house, a feeling, or both?

Home is where you can both ascend and descend. A place of elevation and groundedness. Whether it’s a physical space or the arms of someone you love.

I think that’s the most beautiful definition I’ve heard yet. When you need to feel that groundedness during the changing season, what practices or rituals help you reconnect?

Bodywork is essential — massages, lymphatic drainage, sauna — and plenty of alone time to integrate the shift.

Do you have any other routines that help you embrace the season?

With shorter days, I like to start mornings by lighting a single candle. I often shower by candlelight — so mystical. Evenings belong to my Venus Temple (my bathroom!) with long moments of dry brushing, masking, and caring for myself.

What other small luxuries do you love to gift yourself, or someone else, during this season?

Fancy journals with equally fancy pencils. Always. A little luxury I love to give and receive.

On that note, are there particular products or natural essentials you use daily that uplift your mood or bring comfort in this season?

  • The Susanne Kaufmann Oil
  • F. Miller Body Oil
  • Bhoda Incense

Let yourself be enchanted — by life, by the unknown, by the little things.”

What about other indulgences — what are you currently reading or watching this time of year?

  • Reading: Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro and James by Percival Everett.
  • Watching: Materialists, and of course F1: The Movie (I adore Formula 1).

Whether pulled from books and films, or your own lived experiences, do you have any personal “rules to live by” or guiding principles that you return to, especially in the context of this season’s energies?

Let yourself be enchanted — by life, by the unknown, by the little things.

Lastly, what’s one piece of advice or wisdom you’ve received that continues to guide you in your life and spiritual practice?

You won’t know if it’s right until you try.
